Trust me, I know how hard it is when you have the perfect idea for a shoot in mind, or you just found the most magical reference on Pinterest, but have no idea where to go to make that idea come true. As a Brazilian photographer who decided to call Australia home, I wasn't born here and struggled to get this information in the first place. Unfortunately, it's not very common in this industry to see photographers sharing locations like this hand in hand. However, as I want collaboration to win over competition in this environment, and that together we can create and contribute to everyone's growth and success, I decided to make this a public post and perhaps help other colleagues (or even you who are looking for a perfect spot for your photoshoot).

Some of these locations were shared by clients or even discovered by myself during long walks and road trips. I hope I can help you out (please feel free to message me if I do - absolutely love the exchange).

So here we go, some of my fav places:

  • Bidjigal Reserve (Castle Hill)
  • Centennial Park
  • Cooper Park (Woollahra)
  • Bronte Gully
  • Manly Dam
  • Long Reef
  • Palm Beach Bible Garden
  • The Bluff Lookout
  • Wendy Whiteley’s Garden
  • Cremorne Reserve
  • Winifred Falls
  • Strickland House

IF YOUR VIBE IS NATURE, TREES & RIVERS...

Bidjigal Reserve, in Castle Hill

It's your spot if you're looking for a public park that is more private, quiet, and has some nice tracks, water spots and many trees (the vibes of a real forest).

Cooper Park, in Woollahra

That's the perfect combo if you wanna shoot at the famous Bondi beach (or any other beach around the Eastern Suburbs), but also wanna get some forest vibes. Cooper Park is withing 15 min drive.

Centennial Park

That's a huge park to explore! In every corner, there is a different scenario with an ancient and massive tree, and a great number of possibilities. That's the first park I fell in love with <3

Bronte Gully, in Bronte Beach

Bronte is definitely my favourite option when I want to have two locations in one! This park is within walking distance from the beach, and very quiet and private.

Winifred Falls, in the Royal National Park

To get to this location, you'll need a car and comfortable shoes. But trust me, it's totally worth it! Morning shoots on a weekday there are absolutely magical, and you'll have all the privacy in the world.

Manly Dam

If you live in the Northern Beaches and are looking for a beautiful location with lots of trees and photos in the water, this is your choice!

Long Reef

This is a great choice that encompasses the beach, golf course, beautiful views and fantastic sunsets.

Wendy Whiteley's Secret Garden

This hidden gem offers a huge variety of plants, colours, flowers, and you also get the perfect view of the famous Harbour Bridge!

Cremorne Reserve

This is definitely my favourite location for a picnic vibes kind of shoot. Here you'll get the perfect view of Sydney's most famous icons, the Harbour Bridge and Opera House.

Strickland House in Milk Beach

For romantic couples, I always like to recommend this location. You'll feel like you are in a huge garden of a famous house. Movie scene, really!

Palm Beach Bible Garden

Another location with the most beautiful views and perfect places for marriage proposals, picnics or a simple couple shoot. You can even drive later to Palm Beach and enjoy the two different perspectives.

The Bluff Lookout

Finally, the last place on this list is this phenomenal lookout, located on the Northern Beaches. It's super easy to access. You will need to walk 10-15 minutes from where you park your car. It's super worth it!
